5 Things to Know About Rhinoplasty

Things to Know About wide nose Rhinoplasty

If you are considering undergoing rhinoplasty or a ‘nose job’, it is important to fully understand what the procedure is and what it involves. How Much Do You Know About Rhinoplasty? All Rhinoplasty Procedures Are Different – There are a lot of different things that a rhinoplasty procedure can change, which is why no two are alike. Every nose is different and therefore every rhinoplasty is different. A rhinoplasty can assist with large noses, bumps on the bridge of the nose, crooked noses and damage caused by an injury. It’s One of the Most Common Cosmetic Surgery Procedures – There is no denying that the range of cosmetic surgery procedures is extensive, ranging from breast augmentations to ear correction surgery. However, rhinoplasty continues to be one of the most common.  It Only Requires Small Incisions – One of the great things about rhinoplasty procedure is that it only requires small incisions to be made. There is no need to worry about obvious scarring around the nose, as the entire procedure is done using small incisions at the base. These incisions are made to allow access to the cartilage, which is then reshaped. There Are Very Few Risks – Of course, every surgery comes with a handful of potential risks but there are very few associated with rhinoplasty. As long as you enlist the help of an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon and fully understand the procedure, rhinoplasty is something you can undergo without worrying too much about potential risks. You Can Return to Work Relatively Quickly – A lot of people make the mistake of assuming that a rhinoplasty will require them to take a lot of time off work, but that is rarely the case. Many people are able to return to work within a week of their rhinoplasty surgery. You may be required to wear a splint to hold the nose in place during the healing process and you are advised to avoid too much activity, but returning to work quickly is something that most people are able to do. It’s not uncommon for a woman to be unhappy with the size or shape of her breasts, something that can hugely impact self esteem. This is why a lot of women undergo a breast augmentation. Not only can a breast augmentation leave you feeling a lot happier with the physical appearance of your breasts, but it can also boost confidence. Before undergoing a breast augmentation, it’s important to fully understand what you can expect after the procedure. Breast Augmentation Aftercare It doesn’t matter whether you are undergoing a breast reduction, breast enlargement or breast uplift there will be some level of aftercare that you will need to follow. It’s important that you follow the recommended care and advice for after surgery, as this will minimise discomfort and help with healing. Though every breast augmentation procedure is slightly different, the surgery usually takes between 30 minutes and one hour with breast uplifts usually taking slightly longer. It’s after this time that you need to know what to expect. An Overnight Stay – Not everyone will require an overnight stay after their breast augmentation, but most choose to. There is a fair amount of pain and discomfort immediately after surgery and movement is minimal, which is why it’s something we recommend. An overnight stay is often beneficial when it comes to feeling comfortable. Pain and Discomfort – After a breast augmentation, pain and discomfort should be expected for up to a week. This will subside as time goes on, but painkillers are recommended. Time Off Work – You are advised to take at least two weeks off from work after a breast augmentation. Though you will be able to get out of bed and move around during the initial two weeks, it’s important to rest. Things such as childcare and housework can be difficult, which is why a lot of people enlist some additional help. No Exercise – To allow for the breast augmentation to heal correctly, we recommend that you avoid exercise for four weeks following the procedure. After four weeks of resting, you should be able to return to normal activity. What is Vaser Liposuction?

mummy makeover Manchester

Everyone knows that getting rid of excess fat doesn’t come easy. Though some areas of the body are affected by diet and exercise, there are stubborn areas that tend to resist. Rather than having to deal with excess fat, a lot of people turn to liposuction. However, it’s no longer simply a case of having to have standard liposuction as Vaser liposuction is an option. Vaser (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) liposuction removes unwanted fat using ultrasonic technology. It can target a range of areas including the stomach, arms, neck, thighs, breasts and hips. Vaser liposuction is not a procedure that is recommended for those who are overweight, but those who are struggling to shift certain areas of fat through diet and exercise alone. How Does Vaser Liposuction Work? As is the case with standard liposuction, Vaser liposuction works by removing fat from certain areas of the body. However, Vaser liposuction does things a little differently, it involves using ultrasonic technology to specifically target fat cells in certain areas of the body, before turning them to a liquid and then removing them. This is done by inserting a small cannula into the chosen area, a method that is less inveastic than standard liposuction techniques. Whilst removing fat cells, it also sculpts the area. Recovery Period Vaser liposuction is carried out under local anaesthetic and you are not required to stay overnight to recover. The entire procedure usually takes between 45 minutes and three hours, depending on the number of areas being treated and the size of those areas. One of the main benefits of choosing this procedure over standard liposuction is that it has a much faster recovery time. As long as you rest immediately after the procedure, most people find they can return to work after two to four days. You will need to wear a compression garment to assist with healing and to boost results, but this only needs to be done for around six weeks. Though you will need to attend follow up appointments, you should be fully recovered six weeks after having the procedure. What is a Chemical Peel and How Does it Work?

What is a Chemical Peel

A chemical peel come in varying levels of intensity to treat a range of skincare issues, from texture problems and hyperpigmentation to fine lines and wrinkles. In short, chemical peels are skin-resurfacing treatments that are tailored to the concerns of each patient. Below, we address all your peel-related queries. What does a chemical peel do? Chemical peels remove outer layers of skin, though how many layers depends on the intensity of the peel. After a healing period, skin is left feeling softer and smoother, superficial issues such as acne or acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation should be improved, if not completely corrected. And as chemical peels sweep away dead skin cells, they leave faces with a radiant glow. Are there different types of chemical peel? Peels are formulated as light, medium, or deep treatments, depending on the chemicals used and how they are formulated. The treatment that’s right for you depends on your desired results and how much downtime you’re willing to endure. You should always consult a dermatologist before undergoing a chemical peel. What chemicals are in the peel? Each peel is different, the exact formula depends on the intensity of the treatment. The most common chemicals used in peels are alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and phenol. AHAs and BHAs are the lightest acids, often used in light chemical peels. TCA can be used in many different formulations. Phenol is the strongest chemical and only used in deep peels. Is there downtime? Light flaking, irritation, and peeling usually occur for a few days after a light peel. It can take up to six weeks for skin to return to its normal appearance following a medium chemical peel. Deep chemical peels are closer in nature to surgical treatment—patients are usually asked to rest their skin for two weeks before they’re able to resume normal activities, or wear makeup. Skin can remain red in appearance for up to three months. What is the expected results? The results of a chemical peel varies for every patient. That said, chemical peels are intended to improve the appearance of: Freckles Scars Rough skin and scaly patches Scars Acne or acne scars Fine lines and wrinkles Age and liver spots Irregular skin pigmentation Sun-damaged skin How do I know if I need a chemical peel or a different facial treatment? Chemical peels are not intended to: Remove deep scars Tighten loose or sagging skin Treat deep facial lines Remove broken capillaries Change pore size Can everyone get a chemical peel? You might not be a good candidate for chemical peel if you have: Abnormal pigmentation Red hair and pale freckled skin Used certain acne treatments within the last year A history of abnormal skin scarring Afro-Caribbean or Asian skin Facial warts Speak to a professional It’s always recommended to speak to a cosmetic surgeon about the best procedure for yourself, they will also be able to tell you the expected recovery period, side effects, and end result.  At Dr Frati Cosmetic Surgery we provide free consultations to all patients, our surgeons boast decades of experience and good reviews, and our after care is renowned.  Contact us today to arrange your free consultation. Before you pay out thousands for a life-changing procedure, have a read through our top four points we think you should consider. Is bigger really better? It is common for women with smaller breasts to want to go as big as possible with breast implants, but bigger does not necessarily mean better. Choosing the wrong size implant for your body can completely throw you’re your natural body proportions. Oversized implants could look top heavy and your breasts fake, there are also health risks that correlate with the size of implant. We recommend you only increase your breast size by one or two cup sizes for a natural looking boob job, the decision, however, is completely up to you. Do your research Although a boob job is probably the most common cosmetic surgery procedures carried out around the world, it is important you acknowledge that this is an invasive procedure that is going to permanently change how you look and feel about your body. It probably comes as no surprise when we tell you that the first step is to carry out research into breast enlargements or augmentation. Learn about the type of implants available, and what the procedure in tales from start to finish – this will help you prepare questions to ask your surgeon during your consultation. There are hundreds of clinics offering private cosmetic surgery, read online reviews to check their quality of care, request a brochure, see if they offer some sort of aftercare package and what it includes. We recommend you book yourself in for a consultation early in the process to meet your surgeon. It is important you and the surgeon are on the same level when it comes to discussing your breast augmentation and the expected outcome. What Is Rhinoplasty

What Is Rhinoplasty Cheshire

Rhinoplasty, or more commonly known as a “nose job,” is a popular option for patients unhappy with the shape or size of their nose. In addition to the procedure’s cosmetic benefits, rhinoplasty has evolved to have much more versatile applications, such as to improve nasal function after an illness or traumatic injury or to help with breathing problems. The goal of rhinoplasty is to revise the nose to the patient’s desired appearance and/or functionality. Our plastic surgeons combine the science and art of rhinoplasty to give patients lasting and effective results. About rhinoplasty Patients for rhinoplasty should be done growing. Facial growth in teens can affect the look and function of the nose over time. The exception to this rule would be paediatric patients who have a facial birth defect such as cleft palate. Patients should also be in good overall health and should not smoke as this can lead to poor blow flow and increase the risk of tissue damage. Rhinoplasty is possible for teens who understand the procedure and have full parental consent. Ideally, girls should be at least 16 years old before having the procedure; boys should be at least 18. If combined with a septoplasty (straightening of the septum), this procedure can improve not only self-confidence but also breathing. If you’re considering rhinoplasty, contact us for a free consultation.  We will explain the procedure in full, the benefits, any drawbacks, and of course the desired results.  Email us today of contact us to make an appointment.

Post Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast Reduction Surgery

Most breast reductions are carried out in the private sector but may be available on the NHS in some circumstances, such as suffering pain.  A breast reduction can help improve the shape, size and position of your breasts or correct asymmetry, by removing skin and breast tissue. Breast Reduction Procedure Breast reduction surgery is carried out under general anaesthetic and takes around 4-6 hours depending on what is required. Your surgeon will remove excess tissue, reshape your breasts and reposition your nipples. Immediately After Breast Reduction Surgery After your surgery you will have drainage tubes to remove excess fluid and blood as well as dressings. Your breasts will most likely be swollen and painful, and feel a bit lumpy. It is likely that you will have to stay in hospital for a few days following the operation. The First Few Weeks After Your Surgery You should be able to return to your normal routine within 2-3 weeks after your surgery, it is unlikely that the swelling and bruising will completely settle though for a number of months. You may experience painful breasts during this time, requiring the use of over-the-counter pain relief. Any scarring around your nipples and incision areas will start to reduce in severity. If you notice severe scarring, infection, lumpiness or numbness, be sure to contact your surgical team. You can resume light sporting activities within a few weeks but more vigorous training with significant upper body movements should be avoided for at least a month. It is also important to wear a supportive sports bra in order to preserve the best possible results from your breast reduction surgery. Long term If you are planning children post surgery you may find it difficult to breast feed. With modern breast reduction techniques, surgeons aim to preserve the milk producing ducts to the nipple, which means most women are able to breast feed their children, but it is good to be aware that you may have issues. It is also helpful to remember that if you do become pregnant after your breast reduction surgery, your breasts are likely to become larger, which may affect the results. Any scarring typically fades but this can take up to 24 months. Regular moisturising and massaging of the scars helps.
